86 Catholic parishes, schools and ministries across northwest Pennsylvania will participate in this year's giving initiative.
On Tuesday, December 1, Catholics across northwest Pennsylvania will have an opportunity to put their faith into action through #iGiveCatholic, a nationwide giving initiative that supports Catholic parishes, schools and ministries.
Held annually on GivingTuesday, the global day of generosity following Thanksgiving, #iGiveCatholic encourages individuals and families to support the Catholic organizations that make a difference in their communities.
The Catholic Foundation of Northwest Pennsylvania is once again facilitating the initiative throughout the 13 counties of the Diocese of Erie, with 86 participating ministries offering donors opportunities to make a meaningful impact.
“Giving Tuesday reminds us that generosity is an important expression of our Catholic faith,” said Father Nicholas Rouch, vicar general of the Diocese of Erie. “Every day, our parishes, schools and ministries bring Christ's love to others through education, outreach, service and prayer. #iGiveCatholic gives us an opportunity to come together as one diocesan family and support the good work happening in our communities.”
Now in its 12th year nationally, #iGiveCatholic has become an important tradition for Catholic communities. This marks the eighth year the Catholic Foundation has facilitated the initiative in northwest Pennsylvania.
The impact continues to grow. In 2025, 1,701 donors contributed $550,208 to 94 Catholic organizations throughout the region. Since 2019, more than $2.6 million has been raised locally through #iGiveCatholic, providing valuable resources for ministries that serve individuals and families across the diocese.
For Lisa Louis, executive director of the Catholic Foundation of Northwest Pennsylvania, the initiative represents much more than a fundraising campaign.
“What's so meaningful about #iGiveCatholic is that every gift, regardless of its size, helps strengthen the Catholic community,” Louis said. “Whether someone chooses to support their parish, a Catholic school or a ministry serving those in need, they are investing in the mission of the Church. We hope people will take a few minutes to explore the participating organizations and discover the many ways their generosity can make a difference.”
Although Giving Tuesday takes place December 1, donors do not have to wait until then to participate. Advanced giving begins November 16 and continues through November 30. The official 24-hour giving day follows on December 1, with extended giving available through December 8.
Participating organizations also have opportunities to earn additional cash prizes through a special program made possible by generous sponsors. These incentives provide another way to strengthen the impact of donations.
As the Advent season begins, #iGiveCatholic offers a timely reminder that generosity, compassion and service are central to living the Gospel.
Whether supporting a familiar parish or discovering a new ministry, every contribution helps continue the Church's mission throughout northwest Pennsylvania.
To give before November 16, please send gifts of cash or check labelled “#iGiveCatholic” directly to the participating organization of your choice.
