My DioErie: Good Shepherd Collection materials

The Mission of the Good Shepherd Collection
The annual Good Shepherd Collection in the Diocese of Erie supports the care and well-being of our retired diocesan priests. This collection is taken up on Good Shepherd Sunday and is a direct way for the faithful to express gratitude for the priests who have served our parishes and communities. For generations, our priests have faithfully administered the sacraments, guided the faithful and walked with families through every stage of life. This collection ensures they are cared for in retirement with dignity and compassion.
Funds raised support:
• Medical and healthcare expenses not covered by insurance
• Long-term care and assisted living needs
• Housing and basic living expenses
• Support for priests who are elderly, ill, or incapacitated
• Ongoing care through the Priest Retirement Plan
Why Participate?
By supporting the Good Shepherd Collection, the faithful of the Diocese of Erie care for those who have cared for them.
This annual collection reflects gratitude for a lifetime of priestly service and helps ensure that our retired priests receive the support they need. As more priests reach retirement in the coming years, this shared commitment becomes increasingly important.
It is a meaningful way to honor their service and provide for their continued care.
